| What makes our favorite archaeologist so whumpalicious? |

| How do you take your archaeologist? Psychologically or Physically Whumped |

| or both! |
The look in those blue eyes - how can you do this to me?? That sensitive mouth twisted in pain, mmmmmmmm.... The little boy lost look..... The incredibly vulnerability..... Best Whumped by Alien Episode... Hmmmm, the Chaka episode, The First Ones, was very good, but that's an obvious choice. *ponders* Best Whumped by Jack... This one is definitely a two answer - Broca Divide, psychological -Shades of Grey Best Psychological whumping... Secrets - his wife pregnant by his archnemesis, or Lifeboat - that look of absolute and sheer breathless terror when he emerges from the howling horde of personalities in his own mind *shiver* Best Physical whumping... Within the Serpent's Grasp orrrrrr, maybe Evolution.... Best overall whumping... My personal all time whumped Daniel Jackson ep? The Light, for the Jack/Daniel relationship, the psychological and physical whumping.... and that cute grey pullover :D Best (eep) death episode (assumed or real)... Meridian - No other death episode can even begin to compare to the agonizing physical, or the brutal psychological whumping contained in Meridian. Sacrificing himself in characteristic fashion, dying in the most painful way imaginable, and let go by his best friend, Meridian is the penultimate whumping, physical or psychological... ~Heidi |
I love Daniel-whumping stories because I love his strength and endurance. Best Whumped by Alien Episode... Probably, my favorite alien whumping episode would be... "The First Ones" Best Whumped by Jack... "Beneath the Surface" Best Psychological whumping... "Legacy" Best Physical whumping... "Beneath the Surface" Best overall whumping... "Menace" Best (eep) death episode (assumed or real)... "Meridian" ~Joanna |
It's just so good! Best Whumped by Alien Episode... The First Ones Best Whumped by Jack... Broca Divide Best Psychological whumping... FIAD Best Physical whumping... Evolution 2 Best overall whumping... New Ground Best (eep) death episode (assumed or real)... Meridian ~Seanchaidh |
I like both kinds of whump. I can see those beautiful eyes full of sorrow and I want to hold him. I love to see the friendship and relationships that are revealed in the aftermath of a physical whumping. Wish we could see that on the eps -- but they cut that tag part out. Can't think of fics by name -- so far I've loved them all! ~mtee1958 |
If I were shallow, I'd just say that he's beautiful when he's suffering. No, wait, I'm shallow. Also sometimes we get Comfort. Which comes of Smarm which makes the world go round. Best Whumped by Alien Episode... I WILL NOT jump on the "First Ones" bandwagon. No matter how tasty he looked all tied up that way. I'm going to say New Ground. Yes, they were human, but they were from another planet, so it's aliens. Best Whumped by Jack... As tempting as Broca Divide is, I'm going to say The Other Side. Better opportunities for a really good grovel afterward. Special mention for Lockdown and the wonderful "Who shot me?!" bit. Best Psychological whumping... I need to choose *one*? Okay. There were technical issues in Legacy (plot holes.. and Mackenzie was made out of cardboard) that greatly reduced my enjoyment, so however pretty he looked in it, that one's out.. Need, I think. Or possibly Gamekeeper (yay for the Wondertwins interaction!). On the other hand, he *was* shirtless in Forever In A Day.. Aw, don't ask *me* to decide! Best Physical whumping... Hm. Evolution, perhaps? And special mention for Point of View, for the best single screencap in, like, ever. Best overall whumping... Need is my single favorite episode of all. So that's what I'll go with here. Best (eep) death episode (assumed or real)... I hated Meridian with a fiery passion. I'm picking Fire and Water, where Jack *didn't* get to pretend, afterward, that he didn't care. Yay for property damage in a moment of grief-fuelled rage! ~Acacia Onna Stik |
